We were invited by the Bureau for Overseas Affairs of theOverseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, PRC.
We accepted the invitation and informed our delegationmembers concerning the visit: “This visit, that was informed to us bythe PRC´s Embassy in Stockholm, is a historical moment for the Chinese part as well as for us”. We were to be the first such a mixed Delegation, of both Tibetans and westerners, ever invited by the State Council.
We were very happy about it and we fixed the date for our departure from Stockholm and planned for this visit since more than six months ago. But when the time came I was sick. Also at the same time we were informed by the Chinese Embassy that due to technical complications and other issues, the State Council deeplyregretted that they could not host us this time, and that the invitation would be prolonged to some other time.
The Chinese Embassy here in Sweden expressed its commitment to maintain strong and friendly ties with the Swedish-Tibetan Society for School and Culture and will continue to work to help Swedish Tibetan
Society for School and Culture develop friendly ties with China.
The following are in our agenda that we proposed to the State Council.
¤ On education and Culture in Tibet
¤ On environmental issues
¤ On Hiv/Aids project
¤ On dialogue between Beijing and Dharamsala
¤ On earthquake
¤ On rivers that comes from Tibet-China
¤ On Katsel School in Maydrogungar
¤ On Katsel Handicraft school
¤ On what project can we assist?
¤ How China Charity implement her projects in the field?
¤ How can we help and assist the homeless children in Kyigudo, China?
¤ Can we build in Kyigodo a home for old people?
¤ How can we co-operate and help to build the new Tibet?
¤ Meeting with United Front, if possible.
¤ Can we have an audience with President or Prime Minister of PRC?
Wish to visit to places to in China:
¤ To visit Beijing University
¤ To visit National Library
¤ To visit Tibetan Buddhist High Studies
¤ To visit the Great Hall of People
¤ To visit Minority University
Last but not least I would here like to apologies to our delegation members that for the sake of my health we have cancelled the visit. But I hope we can make it some other time when the time is right. For the Embassy of PRC in Stockholm I would like to say thanks for the arrangement and hard work they extended us and I hope we can arrange together some other visit to China in the near future.
